Consumer Council for Water CCWater
The Consumer Council for Water, also referred to as CCWater was founded in 2005. As 'the voice for water consumers,' the organisation's mission is to assist business and residential water consumers in England and Wales.
Some of the primary resources provided by CCWater include:
- Complaint resolution.
- Research.
- Customer advocacy.
- Tools (such as benefits and meter calculators).
- Debt assistance.
Water Bill, Glossary: water terms, published by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in November 2013, describes the Consumer Council for Water (CCWater) as: ‘A statutory body established by the Water Act 2003 to monitor and advise on consumer issues. CCWater handles some customer complaints about incumbent water companies, inset appointees and licensees.’
